Description: Originally a Gothic border castle, it was founded during the first half of the 14th century by the Těšínsko nobility and stands on the right side of the River Ostravice. It was the seat of the autonomous Frýdek domain from the 16th through the 18th centuries. Afterwards it was in the possession of the Hapsburgs until 1918 when Czechoslovakia achieved statehood. At present, it serves as an important cultural center for the foothills of the Beskydy Mountains and is home to the Beskydy Museum, open all year round and offering permanent expositions, guided tours (also in English and German) and many cultural activities.

Description: A cylindrical Gothic tower referred to as Trúba, it measures 40 m high, with a diameter of 10 m and fortifications on the north-east side, and dates back to the first half of the 14th century.
There’s a beautiful view of the surroundings from the ramparts and, of course, the tower. Cultural events are regularly staged there.

Description: A spectacular late Baroque dual tower construction. The only Basilica minor in Czech Silesia and North Moravia, where the charter was bestowed by John Paul II. Due to miraculous feats attributed to the stone statue of the Virgin Mary, pilgrims have been meeting here since the mid-17th century.
Pustevny
Distance from Kozlovice: about 17 km
Description: Pustevny gets its name from the Czech word meaning hermit and was home to a group of them until the last one died in 1875. Today it is home to a group of unique buildings with preservation status (e.g. Restaurant Libušín and the accommodations Maměnka) built in folk style by the renowned architect, Dušan Jurkovič, who based his designs on Walachian folk styles. There are other restaurants here built out of wood (for example, Valaška, U Zaryša, etc.).
You can reach Pustevny by chairlift from Trojanovice-Ráztoka.Not far from Pusteveny, on the way to the statue of the pagan god Radegast (another one stands on Radhošť Mountain), is the Scenic lookout of Cyrilek, offering a beautiful view of the valley below and the cities of Frenštát pod Radhoštěm, Štramberk, and their surroundings.

Description: A unique national park located in the land surrounding the hill with Hukvaldy Castle on top and reaches all the way up to the top of Kazničov, which rises 600 m above sea level. A special rarity of the preserve is a group of 7 beech trees with extraordinarily massive root systems. The trees are estimated to be 150 years old. The yellow marked trail at the guidepost Hukvaldy – Obora (at the bell tower in Měrkovice) also leads to the Hukvaldy preserve.
Various nature trails wind through the Hukvaldy preserve and can be reached directly from Kozlovice.
Kopřivnice – Raškův kámen (492 m above sea level)

Description: Raškův kámen is a singular limestone block wrenched off a coral reef during an underwater landslide, eventually settling in a deep part of the ocean basin. In 1951 an iron observation platform was built on the highest point of the rock. It offers an excellent view of the cities of Kopřivnice, Štramberk, and their surroundings. The yellow marked tourist trail from Kopřivnice leads here.

Description: Váňův kamen involves the legend of a devil that supposedly dropped the rock here while flying over White Mountain. It was therefore dubbed Čertův kámen, or the Devil’s stone, in earlier times. Váňův kámen is also an important archaeological find. A major popular uprising took place on this location on June 26, 1695.
The blue marked tourist trail leads close to Váňův kamen, which can be reached from Štramberk Trúba, and continues on to the city of Kopřivnice.

Štramberk – Šipka cave

Description: Located within the confines of a national park on the eastern slope of the hill known as Kotouno, this cave has brought fame to Štramberk thanks to the important archaeological finds discovered within it, among them lower jaw bone fragments of a Neanderthal child, the so-called Šipka jawbone, and a group of Bronze Age objects from the late period. The cave is open to the public all year round.
